Qualification: Village Firefighter

Abreviation: VF

Comments: For firefighters handling villiage fires.
 

Competency:

"Village firefighter" is the level of competency needed to fight small structure, vehicle and similar fires. It covers fire behaviour, use and care of equipment, procedures, teamwork and fire protection systems. The prerequisite to commence VF is BF.

Assessment and Certification:

You need to be assessed to be deemed competent to VF level. Assessment includes demonstrating practical village fire fighting skills and answering related questions. Post course tasks may also need to be completed back at your brigade. The opinions of brigade trainers and officers about your competency is also considered.

Training:

VF theory lessons and practical exercises are organised at the Zone level. Practice and follow up training back at your brigade is vital to you developing your skills to become qualifed at the VF level.

Recognition of Prior Learning / Recognition Current Competence

Competency Maintenance
